The Shine war standoff

After the revolutionary war the U.S. found itself struggling to pay for the long war so this new government placed a federal TAX on liquors and spirits. Now the American people just finished a war to get out from under oppressive British taxes and were unhappy to say the least so they just made their own whiskey and avoided the tax. This young government seeing the tax was not helping enacted the Prohibition Act making it illegal to sell, make, or even drink alcohol!
The Prohibition Act was challenged some time in the 1930’s but our crazy still young government left it in place. Now around 2005 the federal government appealed the act and left control in the hands of the states. Several southern states North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and even Virginia left the ban in place mainly the states in the Appalachian Mountain range. Then to top it off in 2014 the liberal government of the united states decided to pass a bill with Heavy restrictions on firearms like no firearm may hold more than 10 rounds including the one in the chamber, No semi-automatic rifles larger than a .22 caliber, Every firearm including antiques must have a barcode and be logged into the national firearm registry. Anyone caught breaking any of there crazy gun laws will have automatic jail time with hefty fines and the weapon will be confiscated and Now that caused an explosion in the black market gun trade and turning lots of americans into criminals. So that brings us to our story:
On February the 6th 2018 North Carolina partnered with several surrounding Dry states to go to war against the production and distribution of illegal liquors and spirits (Moonshine) calling it Shine Wars. Then on March 24th 2018 the first real battle of this war Operation: White Lighting took place in the mountains of Avery county North Carolina. It was cold, snowing with times of sleet and freezing rain common weather for this time of the year. The multistate ATF team had been tracking down this operation for quite some time once they got the information they needed they struck and struck hard. Taking the Moonshiners by surprise they fought relentlessly lives were lost on both sides and in the end the moonshine operation was shut down with all the liquor poured out, steels smashed or confiscated and tuns of arrests made. The leader of this group Robert Pelton evaded our agents. Wanting to put him under the jail agent Hoys made it his personal mission to apprehend Pelton at all cost.
The Shine War Standoff
The ATF have found evidence of one of a large moonshine and gun trade operation in the 5th district could be the largest yeat. A little back story on the area - The state was divided into 3 districts and in 2005 the lines were redone adding more districts but making the whole western part of the state one district with three lead agents to handle everything. Now they do have some agents at their disposal but not many so they rely heavily on local law enforcement. However sometimes even they can't always be trusted. Back to our little dilemma with the ATF, or Revenuers as the locals call them, have set up an old military base for their headquarters somewhere outside the town of Sim in Alexander County. The Sheriff has agreed to help in anyway possible to rundown this Moonshine and gun running team. With as many people making money off this trade from the local farmers supplying the corn and fruits to the local business storing and moving the goods all the way down to the average person just needing a job. With the help of the sheriff and his deputies will this be the end of some of the best Appalachian Hillbilly Juice made and make a name for our ATF Agents, or will the Shiners prevail in the end?
The question is are you a lawdog going to join forces with either the ATF or our local sheriff and try to put a stop to the lawlessness?
OR………
Are you Part of the Moonshiners making the white lighting, running liquor and guns to the distributors or just being security for the whole operation?
